Its important to know how to properly wash your car. An improperly washed car can do more damage than good! First off, you want to start either early in the morning before the sun is out or late in the afternoon when it's cool outside. You don't want the soapy water to dry on your car as this leads to tenacious water spots that are very hard to remove. Bad!! Secondly, use two buckets. Why two? Well one for the clean soapy water and one to clean your wash mitt off in. This keeps your soap bucket clear of dirt that can scratch your paint and ultimately lead to a very expensive detail job! So once you have these steps down, mix the soap as per the manufacturers instructions (don't use dish soap!!!) and wash away. After you're done rinsing the car dry it with a drying towel or a terry cloth towel. Make sure to dry it thoroughly as you don't want any residual water left on the car.
So, the main tips for today:
1. Wash early, or wash late. Not in the middle of the day!
2. Use 2 buckets - 1 for clean soapy water, 1 for dirty water
3. Dry thoroughly!
